Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers stated they were alerted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found multiple other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state early analysis show the substance was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.

City officials said they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important political figure said the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
